Ready for Hair Restoration in Oklahoma?

micrografting hair

Unfortunately, hair loss can affect many of us. Confidence seems to diminish over time, and eventually, we may even end up covering ourselves with hats when going out. Fortunately, we offer professional hair restoration right here in Oklahoma.

Why Does Hair Loss Occur?

There are several causes of hair loss, one of which is genetics. Additional factors that can cause hair loss are age, stress or a change in your body’s hormonal activity. Unfortunately for roughly 85 percent of the male population, they’ll experience hair loss by the time they reach the age of 50. But hair loss can affect women in Oklahoma as well.

How is Hair Restoration Done?

Hair transplants have been performed in the United States since the 1950s, though the technology has changed considerably since then. Nowadays, the procedure is usually performed in one of two ways: A Follicular Unit Strip Surgery (FUSS) or a Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE).

Follicular Unit Strip Surgery (FUSS) involves a surgeon removing a strip of skin from the back of the head. The area is then sewn back up, being hidden by the surrounding hair. The removed strip is divided into potentially thousands of different grafts. The number and density of these grafts depends on the individual’s hair type and color.

In the FUE hair restoration procedure, things are carried out slightly differently than with the FUSS method. With this preferred option, the hair follicles are removed individually. The healing rate for a patient who has undergone FUE is significantly shorter than that of a patient who has undergone FUSS.
